Stabekk Kindergarten works according to Bærum Municipality's quality plan for kindergartens. A new and engaging way of working with kids about energy and the environment has taken them to the finals of national drawing competition.

It is 6-year-old Selmer who created the creative and idea-rich drawing that has secured the nursery final spot.
“It's a lot of fun to win,” Selmer says.
In addition to being a finalist, the entire department gets t-shirts with Selmer's drawing printed on. The 6 year old is very happy with that.
“It turned out very nice and I like that everyone has on my t-shirt. You can use it in school, too,” Selmer says.

The “Save the Power” drawing competition is a nationwide initiative by Noova to engage kindergarten children in important issues of energy use and sustainability. Children are invited to share their creative ideas on how to save electricity and create new energy.
“When we ask children how we can save electricity, they have a lot of great ideas,” says Ida Kr Schlotterbeck, Senior Communication Manager at Noova.
What's in the drawing?
It's our family that enjoys the house. The sun shines through the window, and on the window the sun's rays turn into electricity. Up there is a bucket of hot and cold water and the rainbow that comes when we splash water in the sunshine,” Selmer says proudly.
Stabekk nursery with clear quality work
Stabekk Kindergarten works according to Bærum Municipality's quality plan for kindergartens.
“The competition gives us a new and engaging way to work with children about energy, the environment and community,” says Cecilie Jensen, director of Stabekk Kindergarten.
Now Stabekk is fighting for the top prize
Kindergartens across the country are participating in the competition. At the end of the year, a main winner will be drawn from among the finalists, who will be able to choose toys and activity equipment worth NOK 9 500.
“It was a great pleasure to hand out T-shirts with Selmer's motif to this committed and lively group. It will be exciting to follow Stabekk Kindergarten further in the competition, concludes Schlotterbeck.
