Stabekk kindergarten won national drawing competition

Stabekk Kindergarten has been named the national winner of Noova's “Save the Stream” drawing competition after targeted educational work with energy, environment and sustainability, where children's creativity and commitment raised the nursery to the top.

There was a lot of jubilation and great excitement in Stabekk Kindergarten when it was recently announced that the nursery has been voted the winners of the national drawing competition Save the Stream.

The prize arouses great joy in both young and old, and means extra much in a nursery with little finances.

We are incredibly proud and happy. This is a recognition of both the children's creativity and the educational work the staff do every day,” says Cecilie Jensen, General Manager of Stabekk Kindergarten.

Stabekk Kindergarten works according to Bærum Municipality's quality plan for kindergartens, and has had a particular focus on energy, the environment and sustainability. Through play, conversations and creative activities, the children have been able to explore how electricity is used and how it can be saved.

This commitment brought the nursery all the way to the top in Save the Stream, a nationwide drawing competition initiated by Noova. The aim of the competition was to engage kindergartners on key issues of energy use and sustainability, inviting them to share their own ideas on how we can save electricity and create new energy.

“When we ask children how we can save electricity, they have an incredible number of great ideas,” says Ida Kr Schlotterbeck, Senior Communication Manager at Noova.

For Stabekk Kindergarten, the prize means more than just honor and honor.

“In a small kindergarten with tight finances, this means an incredible amount. The prize is going to bring children a lot of joy and new activities in everyday life. That makes us extra grateful,” Jensen says.

She also hopes her win can inspire other nurseries to work creatively on topics such as energy and the environment.

“Children are more concerned with these issues than we might think. When we give them space to explore and express themselves, both prudence and genuine commitment emerge,” she concludes.
