The power dragon is latest finalist in the drawing competition

It is three year old Mikkel who created the creative and inspiring drawing “Strømdragen”, which has secured the kindergarten final place.

(Stavanger, 11 December 2025) Svanholmen Kanvas nursery is the latest finalist in our national drawing competition “Save the Stream”.

It is three year old Mikkel who created the creative and inspiring drawing “Strømdragen”, which has secured the kindergarten final place.

'I was just drawing what I was thinking, 'says Mikkel.

In addition to being a finalist, the entire department gets t-shirts with Mikkel's drawing printed on them. The three-year-old is very happy with that.

They turned out fine. Now we're equal. And everyone has to wear it,” he says.

A drawing contest with an important message

The “Save the Power” drawing competition is a nationwide initiative by Noova to engage kindergarten children in important issues of energy use and sustainability. Children are invited to share their creative ideas on how to save electricity and create new energy.

“When we ask children how we can save the electricity, we get suggestions that are really creative,” says Ida Schlotterbeck of Noova.

What's in the drawing?

“It's the Power Dragon that provides power. It takes light from the sun and it blows on the lamps, says Mikkel proudly.

A nursery with a clear commitment to the environment

Svanholmen Kanvas Kindergarten actively works with sustainable projects in everyday life, and the drawing competition has been a way to further engage the children.

“The competition gives us a fun and inspiring way to teach children about energy and the environment. It makes it easier for them to understand and see how small actions can mean a lot,” says Frode Dahle, general manager of Svanholmen Kanvas Kindergarten.

Will there be top prize?

Kindergartens across the country are participating in the competition. At the end of the year, a main winner will be drawn from among the finalists, who will be able to choose toys and activity equipment worth NOK 9 500.

“It was great to hand out t-shirts with Mikkel's motif to this enthusiastic group of finalists. The draw for the winning entry is already in January and it will be exciting to see if Svanholmen wins, concludes Schlotterbeck.
