Børge Andersen, property operations manager for Wist Last & Buss in Trondheim, saw big gains in his own electricity consumption.

They were given an overview and control of energy consumption for charging electric trucks, where the transition from fossil fuels to electric and related charging produced power peaks that drove up costs.

A charge at Wist Last and Buss triggered a power peak of NOK 33,800. Noova Energy Systems notified them in control of the power line, and in a short time the grid rent was halved.

“We made adjustments to the charging time of the trucks, where we set a reasonable maximum effect, and the result is that we avoid extreme costs. I'm overwhelmed by how easy this was,” Andersen continues.

Overall, Wist Cargo and Bus have reduced their total energy consumption by nearly a 1 million kilowatt-hours in a year and a half, and are now in full control of their electricity costs. The savings amount to over NOK 700,000 in electricity and grid rent, which shows that there is a lot to be gained from using electricity smartly, even though electricity prices are low in NO3.

The history of Wist Last and Bus shows the gold mine it is to have control over your energy consumption, no matter where in the country you do business.

Emil Halsli, Key Account Manager at Noova says it's not just about price per kilowatt hour, but about avoiding expensive power peaks and not firing for the crow.

“It will always be worthwhile to know how electricity consumption is distributed, no matter where you are in the country. A logical consumption that takes into account the seasonal variations, as here in Trøndelag, is the key to saving a lot,” he concludes.
