Vianor Åsane is a tire and car service company that wanted a better overview of energy use. District manager Pål Bendiksen knew there was potential, but lacked insight into where the power actually went.
The electricity bill showed only the total consumption, no information on when or where the energy was used. That made it difficult to identify unnecessary consumption.
With Noovas, Vianor Åsane gained full insight into where the current was going. They discovered heating cables and ventilation that stood on all hours of the day. Just by changing operating times, they cut electricity usage by over 75 per cent in six months, with no extra investment.
The transition to Noova marked the start of a small energy revolution for Vianor Åsane. The EOS system made energy use visible and understandable.
“Before, we only looked at the sum of the electricity bill. Now we see what uses electricity when, and why. It changed everything,” says district manager Pål Bendiksen.
On the screen, they clearly saw how unnecessary electricity was being used. Little questions like “does this have to be left on?” provided great savings.
Bendiksen describes the process as both instructive and motivating:
“When you see something pulling power at three o'clock at night on a Sunday, you start to think. It's been fun to find improvements.
