Through the new collaboration, Varner gains full control over the energy use of its entire store portfolio, which includes chains such as Dressmann, Cubus, Bik Bok, Volt, Carlings and Junkyard. By combining power delivery and Noova's energy monitoring system, the Group will reduce unnecessary consumption through real-time data and automation. ‍

From utility bills to management tools
The deal marks a shift in how large group companies handle energy. Instead of focusing solely on purchase price, attention is shifted to digital insights and active mitigation.
“We deliver a solution that gives Varner full insight and control over the energy use of the entire portfolio. The goal is to reduce both consumption and costs,” says Christian Fløistad, Key Account & Legal Manager at Noova.

The system continuously monitors energy consumption and automatically alerts in case of deviations, such as ventilation systems running out of hours or abnormally high nighttime consumption. ‍

Significant environmental gain
While cost-cutting is a key driver, the environmental ripple effects are extensive.
“When we use less energy, we cut both costs and emissions. There is a good store and good community development at the same time,” says Fløistad in Noova.

The agreement supports Varner's ESG strategy by providing a better data base for climate reporting and identifying areas with the greatest potential for further energy efficiency improvement.
