About the customer

Agder Folkehøgskole is a boarding school with over 100 students on campus. Good indoor climate is important, while at the same time they want to reduce electricity consumption.

Challenge

The school had already carried out major energy measures, air insulation and new windows that cut consumption by 200,000 kWh. They didn't think there was more to come.

Results

With Noova's energy follow-up, the school quickly got an overview. They discovered that the ventilation system was running unnecessarily much. Simple adjustments to operating time reduced consumption by 236,000 kWh, with no change in indoor climate.

I hardly thought there was more to spare

In the autumn of 2024, Agder Folkehøgskole adopted Noova's solution. Principal Reidar Nilsen describes the collaboration as “absolutely invaluable”. The system provided full control and showed that a lot of energy went to unnecessary ventilation.

By adapting operating times and introducing smarter management, the school achieved quick savings without going beyond comfort.

“Schools can often save significant amounts of energy with simple actions when they gain good insight into consumption,” says Sigurd Hüth Martinsen of Noova.

Nilsen stresses that sustainable operations not only benefit the climate, but also provide a better economy and a better place to be for students and employees.
